Understanding Nerve Pain & Nerve Damage

What it is

Nerve pain (neuropathic pain) happens when nerves are injured or dysfunctional. It can feel like burning, stabbing, tingling, or electric shocks. Unlike pain from a cut or bruise, nerve pain originates from damaged signaling pathways in the nervous system (1).

What causes it

• Diabetes (diabetic neuropathy)

• Injuries or surgeries that damage nerves

• Autoimmune disorders (MS, lupus, etc.)

• Infections (shingles, Lyme, HIV)

• Toxins (chemotherapy, alcohol, heavy metals)

• Aging and degenerative conditions

Why it's so difficult

Damaged nerves may send false signals of pain to the brain, even when there's no physical injury.

Traditional painkillers often don't help much because the problem isn't inflammation, but faulty nerve signaling (2).

How PEMF can help support

• Improves blood flow and oxygen delivery, which are crucial for healing damaged nerve tissue

(3).

• Stimulates nerve regeneration and repair, supported by studies on peripheral nerve injuries

(4).

• Reduces inflammation, a common factor that worsens nerve pain (5).

How Terahertz can help support

• Resonates with water molecules in tissues, improving cell hydration and communication.

• Early evidence suggests Terahertz can help modulate cellular ion channels and nerve conductivity, which may support nerve signaling balance (6).

The big picture

While no single therapy "cures" neuropathy, supporting the body with better blood flow, reduced inflammation, and improved cell communication gives nerves the environment they need to repair and rewire.
